“Caring and Sharing” Curriculum

Each year at Hillside, we sponsor several events to emphasize our commitment to teach our children the value of “Caring and Sharing”.

Here are some of our “Caring and Sharing” Projects.

We made American Flags and presented them to our friends at Picatinny Arsenal.

We made cards & wrote letters to several soldiers in Iraq. Some wrote back to us!

     

We collected boxes of food for the Roxbury Food Pantry.

We sponsored “Book Drives” for the Pediatric Emergency Department at St. Clare’s Hospital. We collected over 400 new children’s books for the Hospital to use in several of their locations.

Each year we finish out our school year by having the children draw and color pictures for an organization called “Color a Smile”. They collect children’s drawings and distribute them to Shut-Ins, Nursing Homes and Hospitals throughout the country. You can visit them on the web at: www.colorasmile.org.
